Tadalafil is an active ingredient of Cialis which belongs to a group of medicines called PDE5 inhibitors. PDE5 is enzyme which inactivates cyclic GMP. By inhibiting this enzyme Cialis enhances the relaxing effects of NO on the smooth muscles of the cavernous tissue and increases blood flow to the penis causing an erection. Cialis is ineffective when sexual excitement is absent. Therapeutic action of Cialis lasts nearly 36 hours and occurs in nearly 30 minutes after Cialis pill was taken. Cialis does not act on blood pressure and heart rate. Cialis soft are tablets which can be dissolved under the tongue. This accelerates Cialis therapeutic effects.
Cialis is prescribed for the treatment of erectile dysfunction in men over 18 years of age. Cialis is contraindicated in known hypersensitivity or allergic reactions to tadalafil or other PDE5 inhibitors. Cialis is not used for the treatment of females and children under 18 years of age.
Cialis must not be taken in combination of nitrates.

In most cases Cialis causes headache(11%) and dyspepsia(7%). Usually Cialis side effects are not significant and does not require the cessation of the therapy. In some cases Cialis may cause back pain, myalgia, nasal congestion, hot flashes. In rare cases Cialis side effects include edema of the eyelids, stomach disorders, pain in the eyes, conjunctivitis, dizziness.

Possible interactions between Cialis and other drugs, supplements and vitamins:-
Alcohol
Nitrates or other nitrogen oxide donors
Grapefruit juice

Alpha blockers
Anti fungal preparations
Certain antibiotics
Antiviral
Xantines(Theophylline)
